5 Ways To Get Your Guest Room Ready For The Holidays!

5 Ways To Get Your Guest Room Ready For The Holidays!

5 Ways To Get Your Guest Room Ready For The Holidays!   It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The holidays are always very busy around my house. Since we have such a large family, there are always relatives coming to stay with us. For this purpose, I have created a list of 5 things that you can do in your home to spruce your guest room up for the holidays!   ONE Extra bedding. I enjoy the temperature in my room set to 65* and often sleep with the window open through the cool months; however, most of my guests do not. Leave lots of extra bedding around the guest room for them to pick and choose from to make their stay more comfortable. I love the chunky look of this blanket for the cool season.   TWO   Replace the towels that your guest will be using with white fluffy towels. The first towels that I bought on my own were a dark green and I have regretted that ever since. From this point on, I will be only purchasing white towels- they are easy to keep clean and go with any bathroom décor that one might already have in their home. I like to fold up a few towels to put on the guest room bed before my guests arrive for convenience. THREE 3. Add an area rug! Cold weather brings cold floors… and toes! An area rug can completely change the mood of the space and make it much more inviting for your guests!   FOUR Two words: wall paper. What used to only be seen in your grandmother’s house can now make an amazing statement in all parts of your home, including your guest room. Stick to large, simple patterns for a striking accent wall in your guest’s space.   Love these foil gold leaves- they are so classic looking and would go with a variety of bedroom décor. FIVE Plan all meals for the weekend before your guests get there! Now I know this isn’t a decorating idea or tip, but you’d be amazed how much stress you will relieve yourself from. Planning all meals ahead of time allows you to spend more time with your guests and reduce those last second grocery store runs. I hope these tips have inspired you to rethink your guest bedroom before the holidays and welcome...

Creating a Man Cave Masterpiece!

Creating a Man Cave Masterpiece!

When one thinks about guys watching sports, three different things come to mind—comfy couches, drinks, and food. My mother always told me that the way to a man’s heart was through his stomach so there is nothing better than incorporating this advice into a, modern day term, “man cave”. I imagine the space to be somewhere without a lot of outside light and very minimal noise distractions. Most of the time many different guys on fantasy teams get together to watch the games and cheer their favorite teams on. In order to accommodate for such a large group, an oversized couch with multiple recliners and cup holders is a necessity. Most of the time all of the guys watching the game are watching different players, rather than one specific team, because of their fantasy sports leagues. Because of this, it would make having multiple TV screens very practical. A new design feature that I have seen a lot of lately is a table that lines the back of the couch with bar stools. This allows even more people to be able to watch the game and is a stylish small renovation anyone can make to their home. As mentioned above, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. This would make having a full bar equipped with a pizza oven and fridge is a must have for any man cave in your home. The last necessity for any man cave or sports room is the memorabilia that can be displayed on the wall. Shadow boxes are a fun way to display signed sports jerseys or things from your favorite players. Have fun decorating the man cave for the sports fanatic in your life this fall… and don’t forget – Go...

Fall in Love With These Fall Colors!

Fall in Love With These Fall Colors!

Pumpkin patches, apple pies, crisp mornings, and football outings are just a few of the many things the beautiful fall season brings back into our lives. When I think of Fall, the first thing that pops into my mind is a soft blanket, hot cocoa, and a big comfy couch to relax on while watching my favorite football team on TV. This idea is great in theory, but what if my hot cocoa was cold, or my soft blanket was actually a scratchy wool blanket, or maybe even the big comfy couch was instead a stiff wooden rocking chair?     Now think of your home. Do you image your bright white walls or your old worn out cabinets when you think of the fall season? Yes, the “rustic” look is coming back in style, but is that the “warm and inviting” home you want?   Besides the halloween decorations and the many fuzzy, soft blankets you’re adding throughout your home, try giving your home a little TLC by adding a warm crimson red color to your walls or adding a glaze to your kitchen cabinets! There are so many ways to make your home warm and inviting for the “sweater weather” we are diving into. For fall color inspiration, check out our favorite fall colors below!   Fine Wine Red Eclectic Dining Room by St Louis Interior Designers & Decorators Marcia Moore Design   Poinsettia Red Traditional Dining Room by Mountain View General Contractors Harrell Remodeling   Robust Orange Contemporary Dining Room by San Francisco Interior Designers & Decorators Adeeni Design Group   Bee Yellow Contemporary Living Room by Carlsbad Interior Designers & Decorators Klang & Associates   Lagoon Green Beach Style Dining Room by Montvale Paint & Wall Coverings Benjamin Moore   Needlepoint Navy Contemporary Bedroom by Montvale Paint & Wall Coverings Benjamin Moore Indigo Batik Eclectic Bedroom by Emeryville Interior Designers & Decorators GEREMIA DESIGN   Mannered Gold Transitional Living Room by New Orleans Interior Designers & Decorators Kenneth Brown Design   Antiquarian Brown Traditional Family Room by Kansas City Interior Designers & Decorators McCroskey Interiors   Grounded Brown Traditional Kitchen by Boise Interior Designers & Decorators Judith Balis Interiors   Need more Fall Inspiration?
