A New Kitchen Island On The Horizon

Paint might be your first, and possible your only, idea when you consider updating your island. This is not your only option. LEGS

In this project the we built legs for the kitchen island to add design and detail to the kitchen. We also painted, glazed, and added a rub-through finish to the island. The finishes and paint color on the island turned this island into a beautiful accent piece for the kitchen.

BEADBOARD

Adding beadboard to a kitchen adds a traditional and rustic feel to any kitchen. In this project, we painted the island an accent color and added decorative legs to give it a less rustic, more traditional look.

A FRESH COAT OF PAINT

Giving your kitchen island a fresh coat of paint is a no-brainer! For someone who doesn't want to commit to a complete kitchen remodel, repainting your island is a great way to freshen up your kitchen without breaking the bank.

Installing new countertops in kitchen is an investment, however it can completely transform your space! Keeping your laminate countertops in one idea, but a stone countertop can beauty and value to your kitchen.

SPECIALTY FINISHES

In this project, Painterati repainted the kitchen island and cabinet black and applied a rub-through specialty finish to give it a rustic feel. The rub-through finish adds a subtle texture to the cabinetry. If you don't want the rustic look, you can always add a glaze or distressed specialty finish to your cabinets.
